Business Ownership
The Meadow Lake Tribal Council (MLTC) established MLTC Resource Development Inc. (MLTC RDI) to focus on increasing MLTC’s ability to meaningfully participate in Saskatchewan’s economy. MLTC RDI is the corporate holding company for all of MLTC’s business interests.
Securing Economic Opportunity
The primary goal of MLTC RDI is the creation of economic opportunity, financial return and employment for the membership of the nine First Nations comprising MLTC. To attain this goal, MLTC RDI participates in a combination of business partnerships and wholly MLTC-owned enterprises. Business development and ownership for MLTC has been achieved through equity investment, government funding and debt financing.
Generating Benefits to First Nation
100% of the distributions generated from MLTC RDI’s business portfolio flow directly back to the nine MLTC First Nations. Revenue is earned and returned to the local communities to foster local economic growth and to enhance existing on-reserve education, healthcare, youth and elder programs, housing and other community social and infrastructure needs.
